WIAW: Breakfast Edition

HIIIIIIII. It’s WIAW!  One of my favorite days of the week.  I love love love reading everyone’s posts and getting new ideas for recipes and meals!

Thanks Jenn!

I FINALLY have some decent eats for ya that I’ve enjoyed over the past week.  I don’t feel like I’ve really nailed my any of my WIAW posts yet…but hey I’m getting there.  I’ll take any sort of progress.  Although it won’t seem like it from this post, I do have actual meals.  My collection of eats from the past week is totally random and I’m just posting the super cool stuff.  I am so sorry in advance for the quality of my pictures.  I snap a picture only to realize the food I’m about to eat looks revolting.  But hey, it’s about taste not looks…right? HERE GOES!

Has anyone ever had an acai bowl?! They are so delicious.  I get one every so often from a little cafe about 15 minutes away.  It has a smoothie consistency and it topped with strawberries, bananas, and granola.  Great antioxidants and super filling!  I enjoy these every single time I eat them and I would love to find some sort of recipe that I could make on my own!

I’ve been on a total oatmeal kick lately.  I could eat breakfast foods for every single meal…including snacks.  This bowl was a little bit on the lame side, just because the bananas were WAY to green for my liking.  I microwaved some rolled oats, added vanilla protein powder, raisins, and some chia seeds!  Tasty.  Still missed the banana though.

Ah, the typical chobani and protein powder.  Another breakfast food…anyone seeing a trend? Reppin’.  Doesn’t this look like chocolate pudding?  Eh maybe not.  Kinda though!  This is a container of vanilla chobani with a scoop of chocolate protein powder and topped with some back to nature granola.  Talk about a super breakfast.  So much protein!  This may be a recipe I’ve shared in the past, sorry if it is!  It’s good though, so you should try it!

MY LATEST OBSESSION.  I love larabars!  I had heard so much about them and finally got my hands on some.  I love how each bar includes less than 9 ingredients!  So comforting knowing that I am not putting chemicals or junk into my body when I’m enjoying one of these.  I like how they taste healthy too!  I tried the PB&J for the first time yesterday.  I loved it. Not gonna lie, I was a bit skeptical, but it was so good!

Last but CERTAINLY not least.  Fruit.  An entire draw filled with fruit for the week is heaven to me.  This week my dad scored some grapes, apples, peaches, pears, blueberries, and bananas.  BOOO YAAAA.  I think I have at least 3 pieces a day!  Fruit is a necessity.

That’s my latest!  A serious goal of mine to start taking some prettier and more appetizing pictures.  Photo is NOT my thing..but I’ll work on it.  I hope you’re all having a nice week 🙂

Has anyone ever tried an acai bowl?  What’s your favorite thing to add to a bowl of oatmeal?  Have you tried larabars? If so, what’s your favorite flavor?

What is an acai bowl made with? Is it like a smoothie in a bowl? Or like hot cereal with acai? Sounds good!! I’m not a huge fan of larabars, but they’re not bad. I like the ones with chocolate in ’em 🙂

I just saw an acai bowl on a menu at a restaurant and now I can’t remember where!!

Larabars are the best. Favorite flavors are coconut cream pie, chocolate brownie, and cappuchino plus all the jolocat chocolate flavors! My habit got expensive though so I started making my own with Chocolate Covered Katie’s recipes.

  3. I LOVE LARABARS!! Pb and J is SOO good! Definitely one of my favorite flavors!!

I used to work at a smoothie shop, and my favorite smoothie was called the Sambazon..in the mix was strawberries, soy milk, cranberry juice, protein, and acai. I would then top it with granola and banana and it was THE best meal. SOSOSO good..I am jealous of your bowl because I haven’t had one in sooo long.

  7. Fruit is always a staple for me! All of your eats look super tasty, I’m loving all the oatmeal!
